After four births of my own, and years of supporting families as a birth educator, prenatal yoga instructor, and doula, I’ve narrowed down the items I truly love and recommend. These are items I’ve used personally, shared with clients, and seen make a real difference in comfort and confidence through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Whether this is your first baby or your fourth, I hope these favorites help make your journey a little easier!
How to Use This List
You don’t need everything on this list—and honestly, you don’t need a “perfect” setup to have a great birth. I often joke (only kind of joking) that the only things you really need are quality birth education, a supportive team, your baby, and your boobs. Everything else is just here to make things more comfortable.

Use this list as a guide, not a checklist. Choose what fits your body, your birth plan, and your lifestyle. Many of these items pair beautifully with movement and birth education, to help you feel confident using the tools and trusting your body. Many of these items also make thoughtful gifts for an expecting parent, and they are great additions to your baby registry!
Pregnancy Comfort & Daily Support
Supports comfort in pregnancy, labor practice, and prenatal yoga—like our Sleepy Mama Yoga videos. Great for resting, stretching, or trying labor positions at home.
Add support and height for labor positions, prenatal yoga, and Spinning Babies exercises. A versatile tool for home or hospital.

Helps you sleep more comfortably and stay well-positioned. The removable cover makes washing easy, and it doubles as extra support during labor.
Soothes itchy, stretching skin and smells amazing. I used this through all four of my pregnancies and loved how nourishing it felt.
Birth & Labor Comfort

Supports comfort, encourages optimal baby positioning, and gives you movement options during labor—especially at home. Make sure to choose the right size for your height!
Ease back discomfort during pregnancy and practice relaxation for labor. During birth, they’re perfect for massage and counter-pressure, giving your partner a break. Want to try them out first? Join our Comfort Measures for Birth Workshop.
For hospital or home birth: front snaps for nursing, back access for epidurals, and snap-off sleeves for IV lines. (And if you need help talking through birth options like IVs, monitoring, and pain management, reach out for a private consultation!)
Gives you and baby energy during labor when eating feels like too much. Great for hospital or home birth.
Supports relaxation from pregnancy through labor. Timer settings and optional light create a calm, soothing atmosphere.
Makes skin-to-skin easier right after birth and doubles as a nursing or pumping bra postpartum.
Feeding & Postpartum Support

Comfortable, supportive, and convenient for both pumping and nursing. Even comfy enough for prenatal yoga!
Catches letdown without affecting supply, with little legs to stand on and a pour spout for easy storage.
Makes antenatal expression simple. One-handed collection, measurement, and storage all in one tool.
Perfect for nursing or diapering stations in the nursery, near the couch, or by the bedside.
These are the tools I’ve used, loved, and shared with clients to make pregnancy, birth, and postpartum a little easier. Use what feels right for you - I hope they make your journey feel more comfortable and supported!
