Things We Love

After having four babies of our own and years of supporting families as a birth educator and doula, I’ve found some items that actually help during the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum seasons. Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or growing your family, these recommendations are here to help make life a little easier.

Yoga Bolster

A bolster offers great comfort and support during pregnancy, birth, and at-home labor practice—including prenatal yoga in our on-demand Sleepy Mama Yoga videos.

Pumping + Nursing Bra

This bra did it all—comfortable, supportive, and super convenient for both nursing and pumping. It held bottles in place securely and was even comfy enough for yoga.

Birth Friendly Gown

Hospital gowns aren’t known for comfort. Whether you're birthing at home or in the hospital, this gown offers both comfort and smart access: front snaps for nursing and skin-to-skin, back access for an epidural, and snap-off sleeves so you can remove it easily without disturbing IV lines.

Birth Ball

A birth ball can help you stay more comfortable during pregnancy, encourage better baby positioning, and give you options for movement and relief during labor—especially if you're planning to spend time at home. Just make sure to get the right size for your height! Not sure how to use it? Join us for a birth class!

Belly Butter

I used this belly butter through all four pregnancies and never got stretch marks! Even if it doesn’t stop them completely, it smells amazing and really helps with itchy, stretching skin.

Nursing Caddy

So helpful when setting up nursing and diapering stations - easy to organize, restock, and move wherever you need them. Want help knowing what to stock? Join our classes!

Pregnancy Pillow

Sleep can be tricky during pregnancy, but this pillow can help keep you comfortable and well-positioned. The cover is removable for easy washing, and it’s great to bring to the hospital for extra support during labor.

Honey Sticks

Staying fueled during labor is key—for both you and baby. When eating feels like too much, honey sticks are a quick, easy energy boost. Perfect for your hospital bag or home birth setup.

Front Closure Nursing/Pumping Bra

Planning to wear a bra in labor? Go for a front closure.
It makes skin-to-skin easier right after birth—no struggling to pull it over your head. Bonus: it doubles as a nursing or pumping bra postpartum.

Yoga Blocks

Hospital pillows are often too flat and too few. Yoga blocks add support and height for labor positions—and they’re super useful in pregnancy for resting smart, Spinning Babies work, practicing labor movements, and for at-home prenatal yoga with my on-demand Sleepy Mama Yoga videos.

Colostrum Collector

These colostrum collectors can make antenatal expression so much easier—one-handed collection, measurement, storage, and even feeding, all in one simple tool.

Ladybug Milk Collector

This milk collector was so helpful while nursing—I didn’t want to waste letdown from the other side! Unlike the original Haakaa, it doesn’t actively pull milk; it just sits inside your nursing bra and collects letdown without messing with supply and demand. Bonus: it has little legs to stand on and a pour spout for easy milk storage.

Zongs

Zongs are a doula favorite!
Grab two—one for each hand—to ease back discomfort during pregnancy and practice relaxation for labor. During birth, they’re perfect for massage and counter pressure (and give your partner’s hands a break!). Not sure how to use them? Join our Comfort Measures for Birth workshop to learn more.

Essential Oil Diffuser

Aromatherapy supports relaxation—especially when used from pregnancy through birth. This diffuser has timer settings for easy, set-and-forget use, plus an optional light you can use to create a calm, dim atmosphere during labor.
